All events are devised and presented by exams experts. These include the founders of The Exams Office, ex-DfE exams centre support officers and managers, ex-JCQ inspectors, ex-SLT members, and awarding body staff.
Unless otherwise stated in the course details, all training events begin at 9.15am (registration from 8.45am) and end no later than 4pm.
Events are held at quality hotels/conference venues and booked via our dedicated account managers.

Jugjit served as Head of History, Head of Year and Head of Exams at two UK-based secondary schools for over a decade before being seconded to OCR as Support Materials Manager. Jugjit was appointed as Regional Manager (later National Manager) of the Department for Education’s (DfE) Exams Centre Support Team in 2008, and as a Prince2 practitioner, he also led on several UK government education-based projects.
After leaving the DfE, Jugjit served as National Education co-ordinator for the London-based Institute of Education, and Head of International Projects and Resources for Coventry University.
Jugjit formed The Exams Office in 2014, and with over 3800 school memberships, it is the largest exams-based support organisation in the UK. He is responsible for stakeholder engagement, operational delivery, strategic development, and produces exams-related articles which are published in the UK educational press. Jugjit heads the content development and acts as lead presenter at over 30 exams training events and conferences, including The Exams Office annual National Conferences – which are attended by over 2500 exams officers each year – and our international exams training event which takes places in November in Dubai.
In 2016, Jugjit formed Exams Training as the training section of The Exams Office to deliver quality and affordable exams-based training to UK and overseas centres.
Jean has over 30 years’ experience working in education and the field of exams administration as a serving exams officer and exams manager in the Further Education sector. In 2004, Jean was appointed to the Department for Education’s (DfE) National Assessment Agency (NAA) as a Centre Support Officer within the North West of England, supporting new and experienced exams officers, continuing this role as part of the DfE’s Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) and the Exams Delivery Support Unit (EDSU). Jean managed numerous exams-based projects for the DfE, including content for training events, the new exams officer Induction Programme and support materials for the administration of GCSEs and GCEs.
Jean formed The Exams Office in 2014 and is the lead subject matter expert. She devises content for a range of support resources including good practice guides, checklists and templates. Jean develops and quality assures training materials and is part of the training team which delivers exams training to new and experienced exams officers.
Ali has been working in education and the field of exams administration for over twenty years. She currently works for OCR, the UK awarding body which is part of the Cambridge Assessment group. In her role as Customer Support Manager she plays a pivotal role in supporting schools and colleges to navigate the regulatory challenges and complexity of administering exams and assessments.
She has first-hand experience of the exams officer role having worked as an exams manager in both a further education college and a large secondary school – so she knows just how challenging and rewarding a role it can be! Ali first started supporting exams officers when, in 2004, she joined the Department for Education’s National Assessment Agency (NAA) as a Centre Support Officer. She left the NAA to complete a master’s degree in Australia at The University of Sydney and then returned to the UK in 2007 when she joined OCR as a Customer Support Manager.
